This October, Cariboo Memorial Hospital is bringing a creative twist to recycling!

Staff across departments are taking part in the Halloween GreenBench Project Competition, a fun internal challenge that combines creativity, teamwork and sustainability.

Each department has been invited to decorate a PPE recycling bin in a spooky Halloween theme. From cobwebs to clever designs, the goal is to raise awareness about our recycling project and give new life to materials that would otherwise go to waste.

While this competition is an internal staff initiative, we wanted to share it with our community to showcase the hospital’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental innovation.

Departments that complete their decorations by October 24th earn bonus points, with final judging set for October 30th. Winners will receive a gift voucher or prize hamper as a thank-you for their creativity and participation.

The GreenBench Project team says it best:

“Let’s make recycling fun this Halloween!”

Keep an eye out for photos of the decorated bins later this month on our Facebook page. It’s a fun reminder that even small efforts can make a big impact when we work together for a greener future.
